PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE TO READ THIS AND CHANGE SOMEONES LIFE FOREVER

Every January we all start the new healthy lifestyle, I was the same, however the challenge to become fitter and healthier took a very real twist when I was asked by a close friend and the founder of the Nathan Bray Foundation to take part in one of the ‘EPIC’ challenges they organise to help raise awareness and money for Bowel Cancer and Cancer Research.

Nathan was cruelly taken from his loved ones in 2009 just 5 days after his wedding day and only a couple of weeks after diagnosis. As you will appreciate this was a very hard time for his family and friends and none more so than his best friends and best men at his wedding Gareth and Matt. As a result they decided that each year they would try and arrange an Epic challenge to remember Nathan and to help fight this horrific illness. Due to the size of the ‘Epic’ these have been restricted to once every 12/18 months.

Previous events include cycling from John O’Groats to Lands’ End in 10 days in 2010, then in 2012 walking from Coast to Coast over 200 miles in 7 days.

On April 30th 2014 we will take on 3 of the hardest challenges in 4 days!!  The Challenge will begin with the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge, the team will then travel to Scotland straight after to commence the 24hr National 3 Peak Challenge, and finally on the third day we climb Snowdon to take on the Welsh 3000, covering 14 separate 3000ft plus mountains.

This will be over 21,000 feet of climbing in total which is 2,000ft more than Kilimanjaro!

I know that times are hard and that someone is always doing something for charity but I really think this is an EPIC challenge and one that I believe deserves a donation however small.  These events really to help people in every way. From a personal point of view I have already lost 3 stone giving me a better life and future.

If you would like to donate please feel free to visit the justgiving website www.justgiving.com/Nathanbrayfoundation2014 or you can text Bray88 to 70070 follow by the amount £1-£10 etc on your mobile phone. If you fancy just doing it the old fashion was you can simply pop me an email at danny.hawkins23@sky.com and I will add you to the sponsor form.
